Vocational Training

With the many challenges faced by Malawi, young people need a starting point. This is especially true if they want to pursue further studies but don’t have money for schooling. By learning a trade he or she can find a job and earn income. When the church has funding, it can provide training in various skills. Brick laying, construction work, sewing, tailoring, and home economics are some of the trainings that have been held. Usually these trainings are for one month. They have typically been held at the Madisi Training Center in Madisi. During the training they are given assignments and then assessed for their skill level. At the end of the training, they are given a Certificate of Completion that can be used to find employment. Practical training in how to be a volunteer at a feeding center or home based care for HIV/Aids individuals is also given.
